Back in 1997, then-aspiring photographer Bette Yarnell Edwards lived in California. The quiet little suburb made the girl feel very much, but, to her surprise, the people around her were very happy - each in their own way. Then Bette wondered what their happiness was. In search of an answer to her question, she created a photo project dedicated to the everyday life of these people. Bette showed what they do every day, from which they draw inspiration.

Later, the woman left this suburb and returned there only 20 years later. Once in her native land, Batt again took up the camera and went to shoot how the life of the heroes of her photographs had changed.
