Kintsugi is a Japanese way of restoring ceramic products using varnish obtained from the sap of lacquer wood mixed with gold, silver or platinum powder. In Japan, this method is considered an art, because every crack in a jug has its own history. Pakistani artist Sarah Shakel was inspired by this method of restoration. She decided to show the world a new approach to the art of kintsugi - she turns stretch marks into works of art and inspires people to accept and be proud of them.
