Unfortunately, today, on December 10, 2019, it became known that the former mayor of Moscow, Yuri Luzhkov, died at the age of 84. The politician held the post of the head of the capital of Russia since 1992, and left it in 2010 and moved abroad with his family.

By the way, it was Boris Yeltsin who, by the way, appointed him the mayor, who considered that Luzhkov could adequately occupy this responsible position. He really did a lot for Moscow, solved many of its problems, controlled her life already during the difficult period of perestroika, and coped with all his duties perfectly.

In 2010, due to some circumstances, the then President of the country Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on the removal from office of Luzhkov, who argued with just two words “loss of trust”.

After that, Yuri moved abroad with his family, but he did business in Russia, he was engaged in a farm, raised pigs and bees. His wife Elena Baturina actively helped him.
The current mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, also confirmed the death of Luzhov, expressed condolences to his family and friends, and also noted that he was a cheerful person who, in a difficult period, did a lot for the city. According to the latest information, the former mayor did not undergo a complex operation, which he underwent in Munich.
